Great Moments From Free Comic Book Day (and Star Wars Day) 2013!

Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) was this past weekend (May 4, 2013) and from what I saw it was a complete success! What made it greater was that it also coincided with Star Wars Day. For those of you that aren’t familiar with FCBD, it is an annual event held in most comic book stores across the country where they give out free comic books supplied by many different companies. Some stores had such a successful day that they seemed to be like mini-conventions! Nerd Caliber attended two stores that weekend. Writer Shawn Proctor attended Comics & Morein King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and took some great photos.

The nerd force was strong with these Star Wars cosplayers at Comics & More in King of Prussia, Pa.
Gotham and Krypton united as a Batman fan posed with a Supergirl cosplayer.
The lines stretched as long as 20 people for people who came for the free at Comics & More, but stayed for the rest of the new and reduced-price back issues.
Artists displayed and sold prints from their portfolios inside the store.
The 40-piece, Lego mini fig is assembled and ready to take on the rebels!
The Lego Club promotion marked the launch of a brand new Lego Star Wars line of toys.
Children lined up to create Jek-14’s fighter ship at Toys ‘R’ Us in King of Prussia, Pa.

[divider] While Shawn was having a great time in Pennsylvania, I and some of the crew attended FCBD at a great store in Manchester, New Hampshire called Double Midnight Comics. The place was packed with eager comic book buyers, independent writers and artists, The Guild actress Amy Okuda (check back shortly as we will post our interview with her) and cosplayers!

Cosplayers gathered together for a group shot at Double Midnight Comics.

All cosplayer interviews we conducted there will be shown here, and below is our first video with Spencer Doe as Snake-Eyes. Interview by Aaron Wahl as Booster Gold. Captions and Photos of Comics & More’s FCBD event supplied by Shawn Proctor.
