Our 2nd Otakon 2016 Friday gallery continues our coverage of the celebration of its final convention in Baltimore before moving to Washington, DC. Once again, photos by our mid-Atlantic go-to guy, Adam Etheridge.
The fact that this will the last year at its current venue may have helped Otakon recover a bit from the downturn in attendance in experienced in 2015, after the pre-registration snafu of 2014 had left some too angry to return. According to Alyce Wilson, who handles press for the convention management organization Otakorp, “Otakon’s unofficial at-door number in 2016 was 29,000 memberships, which is up slightly from last year’s number of 26,877.”
