Mad Max Cosplay Over The Years On News Of A Furiosa Prequel

Last week George Miller, the director of all the Mad Max movies, said in an interview with The New York Times that he was working on a prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road that focused on Imperator Furiosa’s early years. Because Furiosa will be in her 20s, and Charlize Theron is 44, Miller is looking to cast a younger actress instead of using de-aging technology on Theron — although he did consider that, he said.

While I have taken many photos of Furiosa cosplayers in the past five years, I’ve taken other Mad Max universe cosplayers going back almost 10 years, so I decided to include all of them. In particular I would like to highlight my friend Jewel. Like Furiosa, she is missing her left arm below the elbow. Jewel rocks every cosplay she does, but she was thrilled to have a cosplay that allowed her to accurately cosplay her own particular physical form.

Also of note are the two photos of my cousin ldcos618, as Splendid Angharad, photographed in the dunes of Cape Cod for her official pregnancy announcement. The setting was gorgeous and she was at the perfect stage of her pregnancy for the cosplay.
