This Tuesday, June 8, you can see the new Ryan Reynolds, Salma Hayek, Samuel L. Jackson movie The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard in Somerville for free!
The Lionsgate movie is a sequel to the 2017 hit (no pun intended) The Hitman’s Bodyguard and brings Reynolds and Jackson back in their original roles, while elevating Hayek’s role to a co-lead. The promotional teaser for the movie reads like:
The world’s most lethal odd couple – bodyguard Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) and hitman Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson) – are back on another life-threatening mission. Still unlicensed and under scrutiny, Bryce is forced into action by Darius’s even more volatile wife, the infamous international con artist Sonia Kincaid (Salma Hayek). As Bryce is driven over the edge by his two most dangerous protectees, the trio get in over their heads in a global plot and soon find that they are all that stand between Europe and total chaos. Joining in the fun and deadly mayhem are Antonio Banderas as a vengeful and powerful madman and Morgan Freeman as… well, you’ll have to see.
That’s right, the cast also includes Antonio Banderas and Morgan Freeman. And Frank Grillo for all you Crossbones stans.

The theater will have COVID-19 policies for attendees in accordance with current Massachusetts and CDC guidelines. Those protocols are listed below.
SAFETY GUIDANCE: In order to make the screening as safe as possible for everyone we will require everyone to follow certain Safety Protocols:
- If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 please stay home.
- In accordance with CDC Guidelines, masks are not required for guests who are fully vaccinated. If you are not fully vaccinated, AMC asks that you continue to wear a mask throughout the theater unless you are enjoying food or drinks.
- Physical distancing will be strictly implemented once you arrive. All guests will have to maintain 6 feet or 2 meters apart at all times.
- Sanitization supplies will be available throughout the screening area for all guests.
