Anime Boston 2022 Sunday Gallery
The Sunday gallery is the final one from the Cosplay Studio Suite of Anime Boston 2022. On Sunday we tried implementing a scheduling system that Photo Dept. Assistant Manager Serena Senecal suggested before the pandemic shut down the last two cons — using a deli-like numbering system to keep the cosplayers flowing smoothly through the studio.
That worked really well and will be implemented every day next year. In fact, almost everything we did this year will be updated, replaced or at least tweaked next year. Given that there hasn’t an Anime Boston since 2019, I view this year as more of a shakedown cruise, knocking off the rust and making sure systems worked as planned, and, when not, determining how to fix them.
Unfortunately, one of those things that need fixing is the management of the memory cards and workflow of the images. As of posting this, we are missing one memory card’s worth of cosplay studio photos from mid-day Friday. While I hope I can find them like I did the similar missing block of photos from Saturday, that may not be the case. Either way I apologize to all the cosplayers for the confusion.
Once again, I did take some photos in this Sunday gallery, but most were taken by Photo Dept. Staff volunteers, primarily Christopher Wan (boston_film) and Crystal Rhee (crypto.nite). Other photographers on staff that stepped in to take photos so the primary studio photographers could take breaks included Erza Setsuna Inverse of Shinakophoto, Ji Hong (ji_money_), and Photo Dept. Assistant Manager Serena Senecal (RoguePh0enix13).

We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free. These photos are the same size we always post — 1600 pixels in the long dimension at 72dpi. If you want the much higher resolution images (3500 pixels at 300dpi) those will be posted to the Anime Boston galleries starting in a bit more than a week.

Stefan, we are missing a block of photos from Friday from mid-day. I am still looking for them, and I hope I can find them, but it is possible they are lost.

rhi, nothing yet. Until I am finished editing all the Event photos I won’t say they are completely gone, but it is looking more like that is the case.
