PAX East 2023 Friday Cosplay Gallery By FirstPerson Shooter Part 2
By the end of Friday at PAX East 2023 I was beginning to think that the number of people cosplaying was lower than in previous years — even than last year, the first year back since the pandemic pause. But once I actually counted all the photos I took that day, I realized I had taken more photos than the combined amount of Thursday and Friday in 2022. Still, only about two-thirds the numbers of Friday from 2020, but pretty good for a post-shutdown convention.
That said, it was becoming clear that the numbers of cosplayers were nothing like the heyday of PAX East, the years from 2015 to 2017, when League of Legends then Overwatch cosplay was everywhere. In 2017 I had three galleries from Friday alone, and four (which should have been five) from Saturday. And 2017 was just the second year I decided to plant my fat butt in one spot and just grab whatever cosplays I could that passed by, so I definitely missed tons of cosplayers.
