RI Anime Con 2024 Sunday by Wonderllama Photo
Sunday at Rhode Island Anime Con (RIAC) was fun, with beautiful weather and a decent crowd, but definitely slower than Saturday. There were fewer people overall, and considerably fewer cosplayers. The cosplayers Panda Valentine and I connected with were wonderful and talented, and as passionate about their favorite shows and characters as you expect at an anime convention. Not only were the cosplayers committed to expressing their appreciation for anime, but the convention itself was as anime-focused as any anime convention around. Celebrity guests included dozens of English-language voice actors working in anime dubs and video games, and the convention even flew in from Japan tokusatsu actor Kitagawa Tsutomu (Godzilla 2000: Millennium) and Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah mangaka Hariken “Hurricane” Ryu.
