Vessel From Sleep Token For Halloween 2024
The final Halloween-themed Feature Photo set for the year isn’t a cosplay from any horror or spooky movie, series, game or book — but it sure is scary. Our co-host at the Southfleet Motor Inn for the Cape Cod Cosplay Photoshoot Weekend. ldcos618, cosplayed as lead singer Vessel from the London-based band Sleep Token.
Or maybe Vessel1, as in some cases the rest of the band seems to be named Vessel2, Vessel3, etc. All of the band members are anonymous, wearing costumes and masks that represent the band’s conceit that they are all just vessels for the goddess of Sleep. Apparently, nightmare-filled sleep, based on ldcos618’s cosplay. Both ldcos618 and her husband, our other co-host at the inn, are big metalheads — he even plays guitar and bass and used to play in metal bands.
I shot this set in the same spot as the second half of makermage‘s set from the previous gallery. The idea of shooting this scary masked costume with dark body paint in near total darkness makeup got me really pumped. And once again, big thanks to Kevin of kbrophystudio for being both a human light stand and helping the camera focus by shining a small flashlight at the mask.
There will be one more set coming from this year’s Cape Cod Cosplay Photoshoot Weekend, but I’ll wait until after Halloween as it isn’t spooky (but it is amazing, both the costume and the location).
