Cakes Around The Universe
Hey there everyone! For this article, I won’t be posting any recipes or videos, but instead, I want to get in touch with creativity, as well as a big culinary project I will be working on for my cooking show. For those of you who follow me on facebook and twitter know that I’m working on appetizers around the world, but I also like to plan far ahead. So I got to thinking “we have represented all 50 states with something and then it will be the entire world. Where do we go from there?” I was playing Rampage 2 and spoiler alert (well as much as I can spoil a 14 year old game anyway)at the part where you need to travel the galaxy stopping an alien invasion. It hit me, we need to go to the universe! We will begin filming these at Katsucon, and we will be representing planets in the milky way galaxy as well as some fictional planets with the Sailor Scouts assisting Chef J and his rival Artemis. This will be done with cakes!
So you want to create a dish representing your favorite; game, character, movie, book, what have you but you are having a hard time thinking of something? Look no further! When wanting to represent something with food, you need to think of what you want to represent and what characteristics are associated with what you are trying to represent. For example, for the cake that I will use to represent Mars with will be red velvet cake because Mars is the red planet. If you are still having trouble, no problem, just dig a little deeper and think of something that is connected to said character or story you are trying to represent. Another example, I was having a really hard time thinking of something to represent Saturn because no one has ever been to Saturn to tell us what its like. Then I remembered that I was using Sailor Saturn to represent the planet. The element of her attacks are things related to destruction so I came up with Death by Chocolate cake. Well, I hope you found this article both informative and entertaining. Now go out there and get creative!
