Electric City ComiCon: Free Fun At The Library

The public library in Anderson, SC, recently held a free comic convention with the goal of providing “a day to celebrate comics, art, science fiction, fantasy, and geek culture.” The new Electric City ComiCon featured a Fan Art Contest and a Cosplay Contest, which brought out a bunch of awesome cosplayers (who undoubtedly also showed up to support their local library).

That brought Willie from Double Stomp Productions to the con, and he sent us this gallery of some of the great cosplayers proving that reading is FUNdamental (OK, few of you may be old enough to get that). Let’s hope other libraries in cities that don’t have the benefit of multiple conventions — as does Boston, San Diego or Atlanta — catch on to this idea.

Photo gallery tips: Once the page loads the images, you will see the Forward and Back navigation arrows above the image, in case you want to scroll faster than the preset. And to see the entire gallery as thumbnails, click on the gray four-box square next to the navigation arrows.
