Star Wars Cosplay In 2015, Part 1 of 2

With opening day for Star Wars: The Force Awakens just two days away, I thought it would be fun to look back at the Star Wars cosplay I have shot in the past year. As it turns out, searching for them was a tall order, not because they were so few, but just the opposite — Star Wars may be the largest single IP franchise from which I have taken cosplay photos (maybe Marvel overall is tops, but they are close).

Because of that, I could split these photos into all kinds of galleries — based on individual movie, game or TV show; based on overall movies, games or TV or I could do individual galleries of just members of The 501st Legion, and probably of Jewbacca Cosplay, Myratheon Cosplay and Rebellion Barbie each alone. But, I decided to go with standard (tomorrow) and alternate (today).

In today’s gallery you will see the gender bending, the crossplay, the fandom mashups and the creative individual takes on a character. For example, in tomorrow’s gallery you will see a spot-on cosplay of Rey from the upcoming Episode VII. That same cosplayer is in today’s gallery in her very sexy, very funny drinking costume version, appropriately called “LingeREY.”

Photo gallery tips: Once the page loads the images, you will see the Forward and Back navigation arrows above the image, in case you want to scroll faster than the preset. And to see the entire gallery as thumbnails, click on the gray four-box square next to the navigation arrows.
