Anime Boston 2024 Friday Gallery Part 1 By FirstPerson Shooter
We started off Anime Boston 2024 with a bit of an unfortunate surprise — our two newest team members got Covid at PAX East just the weekend before and wouldn’t be able to attend their second-only event as Nerd Caliber team members. Josh and Tony weren’t expected until Saturday anyway, but it still meant we had no wandering hall cosplay photographers for the latest AB.
Balancing that out was the fact that for the first time in two years, I was back out at a table in Community Row, able to get many hundreds of photos of the amazing cosplayers. For the first time since we’ve been in Community Row, when I showed up early Friday morning, all the end-spot table locations had already been grabbed by other groups, in AB’s first-come, first-served system. We need an end table location to be able to get cosplayers into our area without disrupting other tables around us. Luckily the very last table, which opened up to the inset entry area to the panel rooms being used by the Blood Drive, was available. Bonus, it gave me access to a wall socket for keeping things charged up. More on how I failed to use that properly in the third Friday gallery post.
This year AB switched things up and put the Dealer’s Room in the showroom upstairs, while putting the Artists Alley in the first-floor showroom space, right across from Community Row. The line to get into the Artists Alley Friday morning before it opened was incredibly long. I heard on Saturday from one artist friend that this past AB Friday was one of the best she had ever experienced.
Among the cosplayers in this first of three Friday galleries are mandi_joan_cosplay_and_art, tennisengineer92, Metallic Moon Cosplay, uju_cosplay, thesmallestfryboy, capricorncutie.cos, jg3cosplay, theautisticgoldfish, hazedhyde, scenekatsuki, niavv, _ellystar_, wraith_rex_cosplay, feelinlikejello_cosplay, apocalypse.unicorn, scuttlewithme_cosplay, silverfalconcosplay, busyasabeecosplay, mks_cosplays, hats_cg, kirirosecosplay, junk_king_gaming, loganraposo, zipperclubcosplay, thelonelytapircosplay, strictlycosplay, and many more.
