Anime Boston 2024 Saturday Gallery Part 1 By FirstPerson Shooter

Saturday morning at Anime Boston 2024 started off with a little hiccup. My Lyft driver, instead of pulling up to the lobby of the Sheraton to drop me off, turned right to continue on Dalton St. I quickly pointed out my stop was behind us now, and he asked if pulling over right where we were was OK. Just an extra 30 feet, so I said sure. Turns out, when I came in Sunday, I watched the Lyft maps tell my driver to make that same right turn, so it wasn’t the Saturday driver’s fault. Get that fixed, Lyft.

I was anticipating a crazy Saturday, after how surprisingly busy Friday was, and it was definitely busier, but just enough as to not be stressful. A big part of that was having Gregg of Wonderllama Photography right next to me, and we doubled up on cosplayers whenever there was more than one or two waiting. Check out his Saturday gallery here.

As it turns out, the reason Saturday was not as insanely crowded as I was expecting was that — for the first time I’ve ever heard about — Anime Boston capped attendance and stopped selling walk-in Saturday badges. They even capped how many people could be in the Artists Alley (and I assume Dealers Room, but I never made it up there) at any time, at least during the busiest part of the day. Still, between my 355 photos and Gregg’s 70, we still took about 425 cosplay pics on Saturday, which is pretty typical of pre-pandemic numbers for me on an Anime Boston Saturday.

Cosplayers in this first of four Saturday galleries include mandi_joan_cosplay_and_art, tennisengineer92, strictlycosplay, jacky.ha.313, hsc_abby, senpaim00n, shin_the_raven, willf.221, hs_cosplayers, raphael_cosplay, Metallic Moon Cosplay, wraith_rex_cosplay, unabeecos, jessie__deer, slowtowndog, and more.

We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
