Anime Boston 2024 Sunday Gallery Part 1 By FirstPerson Shooter
By Sunday morning, I had learned my lesson about craft services food at the Hynes Convention Center and arrived for Anime Boston 2024 early enough that there was no line at Dunkin’ Donuts, just around the corner in the Prudential Mall. With a decent breakfast sandwich and some good coffee, I was ready for a slower, more casual day. Smaller crowds and fewer people in cosplay, and the fact that the convention mostly wrapped up at 3 in the afternoon, meant I took enough photos for two galleries — half of Saturday.
Like on Friday, I was by myself at the Community Row table for Sunday. Once again, the AB volunteers, particularly security staffer and cosplayer travel_kitty7, were great about checking in to see if I needed anything. Speaking of cosplayers, one of the most unexpected cosplays I saw Sunday was bunsonbunscosplay and friend as Fushi and Prince Bon from the second season of To Your Eternity. As well reviewed as that series was, I’ve hardly ever seen anyone cosplaying from it. Personally, it was also one of the most frustrating anime series I’ve seen. The second cour of Season 1 drops in quality as much as the roundly hated second cour of Season 1 of Sword Art Online. Luckily, Season 2 mostly redeems the series (even if Bon starts off as seeming like a bog-standard royal dandy anime character — he goes through huge changes eventually though).
Also, huge props to Adventures of Clever and bad_phoenix_wolf for cosplaying as Paul Atreides and the desert mouse he chooses for his Fremen name, the muad’dib. And huge props to cosp_lai for joining them later as a sandworm. The teeth are literally zip ties. Genius.
