Arisia 2020 Saturday Cosplay Gallery Part 2
Saturday was the busiest day at Arisia 2020, despite the fact I left at 4 p.m. to avoid the snow storm. That early exit contributed as much as the lower than usual attendance did to the fact that I shot fewer photos this past Saturday than previous Arisia events.
Since Arisia is a hotel con, completely contained in the Westin Boston Waterfront, much of the action happens in the late afternoon and well into the night. Panels ran past midnight, and even at 10 p.m. there were 10 panels to choose from Saturday night, with just two gated as 18+. And those local cosplayers showing up to “lobby-con” in the hotel’s public spaces (such as its excellent lobby bar) rarely show up until the evening.
Personally, one of the thrills of Arisia each year is seeing my friend, science fiction author Walter H. Hunt. Walter was my very first dungeon master (or game master as he preferred back then) way back in 1978, playing Empire of the Petal Throne, a game that inspired Gary Gygax to co-create Dungeons & Dragons. And I am sure Walter came to regret inviting me to join my very first gaming club a few years later.
Cosplayers in this second gallery from Saturday include the Lunar Idols group with Bunny Moon Cosplay, Jackie Dreher Cosplay, AnimationalStar Cosplay, kbmarmaladeskys, like_rabbits_cosplay, fuegoicecosarts, nekonej, neko_nellie; Momochi Cosplays, amaranthinebunny, Just In Cosplay, Miss Molly the Cosplayer, markymarkk64, morbid.pringles, heater_is_back, seven_limes_, kingwencos, Ask Kaylee Frye, locomania22, Hassan Cosplay Photography, blackfrostsparrow, makeupmermaidcosplay, lostsanitycosplays, jackkastiel.cos, jostlinhell, michelleclight, and many more.
We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
