Batman Cosplay Retrospective Gallery On Batman Day
Today is Batman Day, honoring the day back in 1939 that the Caped Crusader made his first appearance in Detective Comics #27. Batman is perhaps the most well-known comic book character in the world, possibly trading that spot from time to time with DC’s other titan, Superman. Because of that long history and world renown, Batman is one of the most photographed cosplays I’ve taken over the years.
To whittle down that massive number, I decided to just post photos of Batman cosplayers solo. So if there was a Batman with a Robin, no dice. Or a Catwoman, a Joker, a Bane, a Scarecrow, a Jim Gordon — the list of secondary or supporting characters for The World’s Greatest Detective is massive. Setting such restrictive guidelines was the only way to keep this gallery under 100 images. It would have been pushing 300 images without that rule.
In here you will find cosplayers portraying the Adam West 1966 Batman, the Christian Bale Dark Knight, multiple Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice looks and many more from various sources. But my favorites are the personal takes on the character, such as the fully crocheted Dark Knit, Matt’s amazing Iron Bat, and The Darker Knight from Everyone’s Hero Cosplay.
