Black History Month 2022: Pairs Cosplay
Today is the second day of February 2022 — or 2.2.2022. It is also the second day into this year’s Black History Month, so it seemed like a good day to highlight many of the photos I have taken over the years featuring a pair of Black cosplayers.
Imposing such a restriction eliminated the many larger group shots I’ve taken, from the trio of Powerpuff Girls to a group of nearly a dozen that made up most of the Wakandan royal court. Also, focusing on pairs meant I couldn’t use any of the many hundreds of single Black cosplayers photos I’ve taken.
To be clear, having hundreds of photos of Black cosplayers in my portfolio sounds great, until you realize I’ve taken tens of thousands of cosplay photos in the last decade. That can’t be an accurate representation of the ratio of participation in cosplay by Black cosplayers versus other groups.
Once cons become a regular thing again, I have to do better.
In this gallery are cosplayers including DGLW Cosplay & Photography, Everybody Loves Tony Ray, Jay Justice, Everyone’s Hero Cosplay, Chocolate Ninja Cosplay, vixenjay_, Scorpking Costuming, iam.ororo, Raymond Ramos Cosplay, cuzako, fricklefracklemarco, jenevievedevereauxcosplay, statuesque_yoki, Dominycanknyght Cosplay, oniuno, and many more.
We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
