Black Lives Matter: Falcon, Cyborg and Garnet Retrospective Gallery

Lately the news media has stopped leading every news show with stories of the protests against police violence and in support of Black Lives Matter. The news shows and papers do continue to cover it, however, just at a lower intensity than before, even while the protests and marches continue unabated. And our promotion of the movement also continues with more galleries of black cosplayers portraying black characters.

OK, technically Garnet isn’t black, nor even human. But their design is clearly based on 1970s black movie characters and musical artists, and because of that Garnet is almost always cosplayed by black cosplayers.

Also, many of the Sam Wilson cosplays in this gallery are actually of Sam in his role as Captain America, not the Falcon. But using the name Captain America in the title would be confusing, and using “Same Wilson as Captain America” would be way too long. When you see the red, white and blue costume with the star on his chest, know that it is the official Captain America during Sam’s time holding that title.

Cosplayers in this gallery include Everyone’s Hero Cosplay, Galactic Edge Cosplay, Punky Bruiser, Raymond Ramos Cosplay, and many more.

We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
