Black Widow Cosplay Over The Years While Waiting for the New Movie Date
The first movie in Marvel Studios’ Phase 5 is Black Widow, which was to premier on May 1. But with entire theater chains shutting down until further notice because of the covid-19 global pandemic, Marvel decided to put off the opening until some point in the future, still yet to be determined.
The move followed a marketing blast, with new trailers or commercials dropping seemingly every couple of weeks. All of that will have to be done again leading up to whatever new opening date Marvel picks, adding to the cost of the film and reducing the overall profit. That said, based on how sad so many people on my various social media feeds were about the postponement, I think there will be lots of pent up demand for any comic book action movie, and for Black Widow in particular.
So our second retrospective gallery from conventions over the years features Black Widow. As you might imagine, I’ve taken lots of photo of Black Widow cosplayers in the past eight or so years. So many that I would normally split this gallery into two, but I don’t want to do that with these retrospectives.
Oh, and since Taskmaster is the villain in the movie, I included two cosplayers portraying the classic comic book version of the man with “photographic reflexes.”
Cosplayers in this gallery of more than 130 images include Nicole Marie Jean, jiro-sensei, Spectra, Briezerker, Not Quite Done Yet Cosplay, Roxas Paige, vixenjay_, emberjaycosplay, rainstorm91, thatgirlerin, maryjaneromanoff, serenacosplay, LeeLeetheBunny, Haruvamp, LadyJ_Cosplay, Sweet Sensation Photography, Silhouette Cosplay, Eupheme Creations, Bethany Maddock, gingerragecosplay213, Natalia Anne Cosplay, and many more.
We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
To view the entire gallery, just click on the image below. If you are pictured in any of our galleries, feel free to download the images and use them non-commercially on social media, with appropriate credit.
