Doctor Who Cosplay Retrospective Gallery

Today is Groundhog Day, and while that is usually associated with predictions on the duration of winter weather, since the 1993 Bill Murray movie of the same name came out, it has been associated with time loops. So I though what better cosplay to use to represent that than the most famous time traveler themselves, the title character of Doctor Who.

When I started pulling these images together I realized that by the time I reached photos from 2017 and was about to go over 200, I needed to restrict the choices to just the actual time travelers. That includes all 13 bodies of the Doctor, the Master (multiple forms), and Capt. Jack Harkness. That also means the only time you will see the TARDIS (either as a cosplayer’s interpretation of it as an outfit or someone actually cosplaying the canonical time it appeared as a human, Idris) is when they appear with the Doctor.

Alas, no standalone images of the many amazing Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans, Ood, etc., that I have photographed. And I couldn’t include the perfect Victorian android from the episode “The Girl in the Fireplace,” or the disturbingly accurate Lady Cassandra from the episode “The End of the World” — such as remains of her anyway. That also means no companions unless they are in a photo with the Doctor. Out of the dozens of fascinating companions that have accompanied the Doctor over the decades, only Clara and Rose are in this gallery of more than 130 images.

Cosplayers in this gallery include Adventures of Clever, bluecollarbitch, Mini Mal Cosplay, Just In Cosplay, lothloriencosplay, ffximoogle_cosplay, a.mal.gam, lounatic_cosplay, Tiffany Rae Knight, sithcamaro, Sara Richard, shock_of_miss_louise, Thatch Cosplay, White Fang, a whole bunch of members of Boston Whovians! who don’t have cosplay pages, and many, many more.

We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
