The last gallery from Fan Expo Boston 2022 by Samie of samiewongphotos shows perhaps the greatest variety of locations at which she took cosplayers’ photos. It also highlights just how much of a broad appeal into different fandoms Fan Expo now has.
There are cosplays from Star Wars, Disney, comic books, video games and particularly of note, anime. I’ve mentioned before how anime has become much more commonly seen in pop culture conventions in the past few years than previously. This gallery has one of the rarer cosplays I see, Reg from the brilliant Made in Abyss. One cosplay even bridges anime and video games — Joker from Persona 5, with his black trench coat and white domino mask.
However, obscure cosplay award has to go to the guy cosplaying as Patsy, King Arthur’s servant and horse imitator from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
