Fan Expo Boston 2024 Sunday Red Carpet Cosplay Galleries

On the final day of Fan Expo Boston 2024 the convention held not one but two Red Carpet events. The first one of the day was a special event hosted by cosplaydadcosplay and themed around Father’s Day, which fell on that Sunday. Despite being well promoted by the convention, that first Red Carpet was lightly attended — possibly because it began just after noon, and possibly because people may have assumed that only cosplaying dads were allowed to walk the Red Carpet.

The second one, the regular Red Carpet event held on Sunday at each Fan Expo convention, was as well attended as the one on Saturday. It began just a couple hours after the Father’s Day event, so it broke up the afternoon time at the studio space almost perfectly in two. I did do one thing differently than on Saturday though. By the time about half of the cosplayers had walked the carpet on Saturday, it was clear that they hadn’t heard host Jen’s instructions that they were to come up for two poses and wait until I gave them the indication to strike the second pose before doing so then getting the “all clear” to leave the carpet. That was because the line was so long that it extended past the big doorways that separated the Hall A and Hall B entrances and went into the open escalator bay space going back all the way to the front hallway. Even using the DJ’s PA system, Jen’s voice didn’t reach them.

So on Sunday I walked out into the point where the hallway met the escalator bay and shouted to get the attention of those in line, then shouted out my instructions. If you’ve ever been in any of the large group shoots I’ve done for Free Comic Book Day at Double Midnight Comics or other events, you know I can get really, really loud. Almost everyone followed the instructions for the Sunday Red Carpet.

Among the cosplayers in this final gallery from Fane Expo Boston 2024 are sideeyebrigade, odd.rolls, cosplaydadcosplay, ctcowboy71, and many more.

We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
