Fast Food Babes at Dragon Con 2019
For my final Dragon Con 2019 gallery, we’re bringing you an amazing group cosplay from the inspired mind of Nerd Caliber contributor Gogo Incognito: the Fast Food Babes. As soon as she told me about the idea, I knew I had to shoot this group of lovely and talented people. Enjoy the photos and the story behind the idea and everyone’s costumes.

This idea came about 2 years ago, backstage at a burlesque show, where I (and a few other nerdy showfolx) were dishing on the pomp and circumstance of Dragon Con to the other performers.
I had said, ‘You know what hasn’t been done: the manga-style and meme send ups to the big fast food brands.’ I whipped up Wendy, Col. Sanders, and a few more. Interest was piqued! I talked about it to a few more amazing cosplay friends … and then let it sit for a year due to life being busy.
This year was the year, and I couldn’t have asked for a better crew of cosplayers, costumers, models, and showgirls. Each person brought their creativity and skills. Each interpretation was unique and exciting. Watching this all unfold via a private group was so, so elating. And the final product a happy meal that answered the eternal question, ‘do you want fries with that shake?”’ Very, very yes.
Gogo Incognito – Glamour Ronald
This was inspired by The 5th Element. Since it’s my group, I decided to be the Big Bad. Just being the fast food Thanos of our group, with a better jawline … and waist … and bosom. So proud of all my gals! They brought it hard with originality, concept, and creativity.

Galacticat – Little Caesar’s
Chosen so she could be hot n’ ready! She went with a Romanesque theme, and the best prop! But did you catch her posing with the Spartans for their 300 shoot? So good!

Firebird Costumes – Starbucks
She took the Starbucks Siren meme and made it classy! Supreme seamstress. Had two siren tails that raised up, plus the signature cup.

Iisha Lemming – Arby’s Waifu!!
Iisha is a professional costumer. She came in with three weeks to spare and knocked it out of the park! She’s an absolute dynamo. She gets special attention for the unconventional materials used for the wig and curly fries, plus the LED Arby’s hat.

Miss Jenna Beth – Col. Sanders / KFC
Miss Jenna took her cue from the Colonel as Silver Fox Daddy memes making their way around. For her first Dragon Con, she went for the glamour and delivered!! She’s an international pinup model and international burlesque star and a big deal in both the burlesque and pinup communities! So happy to have her at her first DC.

Vanna Redd – Taco Belle
Vanna brought the demure styling. Did you catch her chili pepper printed pantaloons? A pole dancer instructor, she was super flexible in terms of posing, and her adorable handmade costume featured the Taco Bell chihuahua and a burrito wrap.

Gidget Bardot – In-N-Out Burger
Gidget brought all her award-winning burlesque-ness to In-N-Out Burger. Her costume truly has the fries for that shake! This was her first big group cosplay, and like all foodie junkies, we need more.

Ginger Oh Snap – Dairy Queen
Another pro costumer and super show girl, Ginger made Dairy Queen triumphant. She patterned and hand-made everything in her costume, from the sash to the label to vanilla swirl wig. A true pro, Dragon Con has seen her before: she was the Mary Jane who rode shotgun to Stan Lee in the DC parade. This gal is going places!!!

RX Queen Costuming – Burger Queen
This gal can sew anything! She was our Burger Queen, complete with bling chain! She’s also a triathlete turned cosplayer. Check our her Instagram to see more of her couture work.
Honorable mention: Viola Vainglory as Wendy, who sadly had to leave for a panel before the shoot.
