‘Final Fantasy XV’ Marketing Explodes: Demo, Anime Launch

Late yesterday, at an event in Los Angeles, Square Enix announced that both a downloadable demo and a new five-episode anime series were launching to promote the Sept. 30, 2016, release of the game Final Fantasy XV.

The first episode of the series premiered here in the US on Crunchyroll last night. According to the press release from Square Enix, Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV “consists of five standalone episodes that delve into the extraordinary friendships between crown prince Noctis and his three comrades, setting the stage for the adventure players will set out upon in the action-packed RPG.” In addition to premiering on Crunchyroll, the first episode is available via YouTube, and all subsequent episodes will be available to watch there for free as well.

The Platinum Demo, as it is called, is described as “a free download demo that offers a glimpse into the final game as it whisks players away to a fragmented dreamscape of Noctis as a child. This storyline is unique to the demo and will not be available in the final version of the main game.” The demo can be downloaded at the main Final Fantasy XV website.

When the game debuts on Sept. 30, Square Enix will also release a full-length animated movie with Sony Pictures, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, which features the voice work of Sean Bean, Lena Headey and Aaron Paul. You can check out the trailer at the movie’s own dedicated site, or view it in all it’s CGI beauty below.
