FirstPerson Shooter’s Favorite Genderbent and Crossplay Photos of 2017!

Before we start with the first of two galleries of genderbending or crossplay cosplay photos, some definition and clarification is required. For both categories, I am going on character appearance. So, if you are a hairy -chested, bearded person, and wear a straight-up skirt-and-bustier Wonder Woman costume, I am calling that crossplay. That isn’t to say the person wearing the costume identifies as male, just that the appearance is of a male portraying a female. Excellent examples of this are both of the cosplayers portraying Kana from Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.

That applies to genderbending as well. If you take the costume of a male character, and alter it to present traditionally female features such as breast cleavage, it is genderbending the character — whatever the gender identity of the person wearing it is. One excellent example of subtle genderbending is Glamazon_Painforest_Cosplay‘s Ash from the Evil Dead series. Adding the Rosie the Riveter headscarf and the shorts makes it a female-appearing version of the very male Ash.

Other cosplayers in this first of two galleries include Olivia Kitt Cosplay (multiple times), Sweetest Little Darling CosplaySamantha Young CosplayChronic Mermaid CosplayCosplayer of Earth-603Wizard Did It CosplayKhepera Cosplaymaydaycosplay, Miss Mayhem Cosplay, ShiroiOji Cosplay, Dollilicious (with Teragram Cosplay who is not genderbending), and more.
