Five Spring 2016 Anime Shows Worth Watching

When people think of springtime, thoughts usually turn to baseball, warmer weather and the Easter holiday. In Japan, however, it is the beginning of the new anime season as there are a lot of titles that are being released in this month of April. But out of all the series being released what are the ones that worth your time? Here are five that I have heard of and I cannot wait to see:

Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE: 0096: Yes, you heard right there is another Gundam series that is going to be released in Japan. Taking place at a colony known as Industrial 7, this series focuses on a youth named Banagher Links. At this colony the white unicorn Gundam is undergoing some extensive testing and this sets the stage for the next epic tale in the Gundam universe.

Joker Game: While there are a few anime being released that are set in fantastic universes this one caught my eye. This series is set in 1937 as the events leading up to World War 2 are starting to unfold. Centered on the mysterious D agency that has been formed by the Japanese army, they have recruited some of the best personnel for spy missions in war-torn Europe.

Koutetsujou no Kabaneri: This anime takes place in a world that is experiencing the growing pains of an industrial revolution. From out of the shadows a monster appears (the featured image above) that can only be killed with a blow to the heart. But there are two problems as the monster’s heart is protected by iron and every human this monster bites becomes an undead abomination.

Ushio to Tora: When I was discovering anime I came across a series that ADV had produced called Ushio to Tora. But this anime was only 10 episodes long about a boy and a demon that he had freed that dwelled within a spear. Now there has been a resurgence in this anime with the first 27 episodes already released and more coming this year! If you are a fan of this anime you need to check this out.

Boku no Hero Academia: In a world where everyone has an opportunity to be a real superhero, Izuku Midoriya dreams about it on a daily basis. However, he lacks a quirk (a minor superpower that develop in childhood) but that all changes when he meets his idol All Might. Will Izuku Midoriya excel at the famed Yuuei Academy, which trains young students to become heroes?

These are just some of the anime that are going to be released next month and beyond. But how can you keep track of anime let alone watch the new ones that are being released? There are plenty of websites that cover anime news but one in particular called MyAnimeList that covers all the ongoings of Japan. You can find it at MyAnimeList and check out all the anime past, present and future. Also there are other sources to consider such as Anime News Network which covers not only just anime but live action and gaming as well. Also, CrunchyRoll covers a few things that some of the mainstream sites miss and they can be found at http://www.crunchyroll.com/news. As to watching the released anime, YouTube has tons of videos that are not only unsubbed, but that are fansubbed by groups just to share anime with the rest of the world.

Whether you like action, sci-fi, horror or comedy there is an anime coming soon that will appeal to your taste.
