Genderbent K/DA Akali From CCCP 2020
My last photo set from Saturday of this year’s Cape Cod Cosplay Photoshoot Week in late October was definitely one of the most fun. I knew Chocolate Ninja Cosplay was planning to wear a version of K/DA Akali but when I saw it I was floored by both how accurate it was and how clever the minor changes were. In case you have somehow not heard of K/DA, they are a virtual girl group made up of alternative designs for League of Legends characters Ahri, Evelynn, Kai’Sa and Akali.
In my experience taking photos of cosplayers of these characters, it is a toss up between which is most popular — Ahri with her crystalline fox tails or Akali with her black light designs and streetwear inspiration. Chocolate Ninja picked Akali, and while we didn’t have any setting that was actually urban, the co-manager of the Southfleet Motor Inn, Alex, found some spray paint cans for tagging. He even figured out a way for Akali to tag the side wall of the back building without leaving any actual paint behind.
We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
