Granite State Comicon, I missed you. It’s been two years since we’ve seen each other. You look great, haven’t aged a day.

Between covid and scheduling conflicts, I haven’t been to Granite State Comicon since 2019. I missed the best little show in New England. It always feels like my ‘home con’ even though I live in Mass. So it was a treat when the stars aligned and I was able to join the fun this year. As always, it was a great crowd, full of old friends, kids having a blast in costumes, and amazing vendors and artists. The costume contest was a blast, with some truly talented contestants. The real highlight was the aptly named What We Do in the Shaskeen after-party on Saturday (the Shaskeen being the local pub that hosted the event). As the name implies, it was vampire-themed, and people sank their teeth into the theme (sorrynotsorry), with brilliant costumes and too many Nadjas to count.

During the day on Saturday, I got to fill in for Rodney at the Nerd Caliber photo suite. As we often do, I set up a backdrop in the same room as the costume contest judging, so I got to make photos with lots of fantastic cosplayers and their hard work. By popular vote online, I set up my stained-glass window backdrop, so the photos have a warm, sunlit feel.

Cosplayers in this gallery include jendavislovespugs, jessicaleighcosplay, missnikkimuffin, pandanopants, pashavixen, sarkazm2112, ladycat1170, snowdog.1138, christopherlavallee, the_painted_oracle, aeons_on_saturn, sycosplay, stro_lord, demonikayla, alaina318, and many more.

We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
