How To Make Christmas Cookies by The Cooking Dojo

Well December is almost over, so I thought I would present another treat that’s great around this time of year and easy to make. What I love about sugar cookies aside from the taste is how versatile they are. If you aren’t sure what I am talking about, here is what I mean. With baking, you have to be very precise, and missing just one ingredient can make or break the item at hand. You can add just about any extra flavors you want, and the cookie is light in color so you can add any design you want. I like to describe sugar cookies as a palette just waiting to be painted. Here are some Super Mario Bros. themed cookies I hand drew almost 3 years ago.

Here is a basic recipe you can use to make sugar cookies, but I have also attached a video showing how to make the cookies and icing if you want to use icing to decorate.

Sugar Cookie Recipe:

1 ½ cup softened butter

2 cups white sugar

4 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

5 cups all purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt
