Lots That Looks Good In Upcoming ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’
You are vengeance, you are the night, you are Batman! Yes, once again the team at Rocksteady Studios is ready to take us back into the streets of Gotham City, with Batman: Arkham Knight, the fourth and final game of the series. The Batman Arkham series is without a shadow of a doubt one of the best superhero games to have ever graced a console, and the next installment is looking to be the best one yet.
Scarecrow is out to destroy Gotham, and this time he isn’t alone. Penguin, Two Face, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and many others of Gotham’s Rogues Gallery descend Gotham into chaos. Now it is up to the Dark Knight to save his city. However he will have to deal with a new player in town, the mysterious Arkham Knight, who seems to have a huge vendetta against Batman.
From the amount of new content shown in gameplay previews alone, this is showing true improvement made over the already stellar design from previous games in the Arkham line. The Bat has never looked better. With his new modified high tech Batsuit, you will take to the streets of Gotham City like never before. Combat seems to have improved even more over the previous titles, with new attacks, counters, and even more fast-paced fluid combat. Also introduced is the new dual combat system, which are combo attacks Batman chains together with other superheroes such as Robin, Catwoman, and Nightwing — who was shown in the latest trailer. They look playable, but could this be a new tease for cooperative gameplay? We’ll have to wait a little longer to find out.
While the gliding is great, new means of transportation will be needed to traverse this new city. So for a series first, the Batmobile will be a big part of the game. The Batmobile will play a huge part in how you take on a mission, as it provides you with new tools such as a grappling hook, and a tank mode to engage enemies in vehicular combat.
The game truly shows next-gen console strength as the graphics are the best of the series. Watching the Batsuit assemble showed amazing visual aesthetics, and the city of Gotham is phenomena. While gliding through Gotham, the cityscape is huge, and colors are vibrant. And lastly the Batmobile is amazing — you see each little detail, and when it transforms to tank mode it definitely is a sight to behold. There are so many questions I have on this game, but good news is we have only a little while longer to wait till we can get our hands on Batman: Arkham Knight when it comes out June 23rd for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
