NYCC 2018 Gallery By Adam Etheridge, Saturday Part 1
We now come to my first of two photo galleries from Saturday at New York Comic Con 2018. Although every day of the event is packed with people and content these days, Saturday of NYCC is still widely considered the biggest day of the convention in just about every sense of the term. It’s the day that the organizers schedule some of the most popular panels, which this year included a panel for Marvel’s Daredevil, and of course the panel for AMC’s The Walking Dead, which would be Andrew Lincoln’s final appearance on a TWD panel at NYCC.
Although there are plenty of cosplayers around on every day of the convention, Saturday is probably the day that cosplayers bring out their best and most elaborate outfits. Part of the reason for this is that Saturday night is when the NYCC Championships of Cosplay are held. Hundreds, if not thousands of cosplayers apply to be part of this prestigious competition, but only a select few are approved to compete. Although neither myself nor fellow Nerd Caliber photographer FirstPerson Shooter were able to attend (as the competition doesn’t end until around 10:00 p.m., and we’re too old to stay up that late), you’ll undoubtedly see photos of at least a few of the contestants throughout our Saturday photo galleries.
If you’re interested in attending New York Comic Con on Saturday in the future, you’ll need to be sure to find out when tickets go on sale and be ready and waiting when the queue opens. The vaunted Saturday ticket is easily the most sought after of them all, and they always sell out at a rapid pace.
