NYCC 2019 Saturday Gallery By Adam Etheridge, Part 1
Although every day at New York Comic Con is bustling with activity, Saturday is probably still considered the biggest, busiest, and arguably the best day of the convention by many attendees. Saturday tickets always sell out very quickly, generally selling out within an hour or two after they go on sale, as opposed to other ticket types, which are generally available for a week or two after the on-sale date.
Some of the biggest panels of New York Comic Con 2019 were held on Saturday, which included the always popular panel for The Walking Dead, which was held at the beginning of the day at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. Fans attending the panel were in for a treat as Lauren Cohan (Maggie) made a surprise appearance toward the end of the panel.
The NYCC Championships of Cosplay closed out the day on the main stage at the Javits Center. Hundreds, if not thousands of cosplayers apply to be part of this prestigious competition, but only a select few are approved to compete. The competition brings out some of the best cosplayers from all across the country and world. Congratulations to Akellyz for taking first place in the extremely fierce competition.
