PAX East 2024 Friday Cosplay Gallery by FirstPerson Shooter Part 1
This year, PAX East threw us a serious curveball before we even got to the convention. Our team’s plan was to attend Friday through Sunday, and I had already advertised that we would be at our usual location just off the lobby all three days. So, Thursday morning when photographer friend Kevin Brophy send me a DM with pics that showed our location (and the matching one on the other side of the lobby) had been closed off completely, I went into modified stationary panic mode.
After some consultation with the team, I made the call to relocate all the way to the back of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center’s top floor on the west side (or city side). This where I first took photos at PAX East for Nerd Caliber a decade ago — it has great natural light and is close to the press-only rooms. The trade-off is that being so far out of the path of most traffic, the number of passerby cosplayers I called out to for photos was much lower than when I was at our usual location. That is why there are only two galleries from Friday instead of the usual three.
That said, getting two galleries out of a Friday in this post-pandemic-restrictions era is typical, and I saw both many friends I hadn’t seen in years, and did meet new cosplayers.
This year we had a team bigger than we’ve had in many years, and you can expect many more galleries from other photographers in addition to more from me, and lots of video on YouTube.
Cosplayers in this first of two Friday galleries include inevitablebetrayal, tiltawurl, philanthrobotic, snarky_fox, bulletdancercosplay, alisonbirbz, Carley Winn Cosplay, chefblooby, sailorpandah, kurygeon, sisucosplayandcraft, Steel Shield Cosplay, queenofcoatscosplay, foxiimoxii, katiecole19, jragonxx, soisbellaa, and many more.
We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
To view the entire gallery, just click on the image below. If you are pictured in any of our galleries, feel free to download the images and use them non-commercially on social media, with appropriate credit.

Also, High-res images for sale is back!
If you are pictured in any of our galleries and want the high-resolution (3200 pixels at its widest by 300dpi) download for yourself, we can make it available via a private Smugmug link, for $10 per image.
