PAX East 2024 Friday Cosplay Gallery by FirstPerson Shooter Part 2
As Friday afternoon at PAX East 2024 rolled along, the bright sunlight continued to provide some interesting challenges to taking photos of the wonderful cosplayers. People who have had photos taken by me many times know that I like to use a flash for consistent lighting. Not just for a consistent look, but also for ease of batch editing in post processing. I’m lazy. While I prefer consistency, I don’t mind the low-grade challenge fluctuating lighting brings to the job. It’s like a photographer’s own version of Wordle (or Connections, which is the latest hot thing I guess).
To beat the Friday afternoon rush hour traffic, I planned to leave at 3:30. What actually happened was I started packing up my gear at 3:30 and didn’t account for the 30-minute walk from the back corner of the BCEC to the Westin where I had valet parked the car. So, after more than a decade of not having the daily commute into and out of downtown Boston, I got it full blast. Not exactly the same feeling as, say, going back to Disneyworld after a decade.
The rest of the team, both photographers and videographers stayed later or much later, so we didn’t miss much by the fact I left so early, and that means you won’t miss much coverage of awesome PAX East cosplay.
Among the cosplayers in this last of my Friday galleries are fallenbecks, A-Rok, nocloudcosplay, _brookesmart_, jelliclekacie, voidfishcosplay, lazcosplays, ashesdaphoenix, sunbunnycosplay, generalbenkenobi, and many more.
We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.

Also, High-res images for sale is back!
If you are pictured in any of our galleries and want the high-resolution (3200 pixels at its widest by 300dpi) download for yourself, we can make it available via a private Smugmug link, for $10 per image.
