Plantronics BackBeat® GO – Review
I’ve never realized how much I was missing out on when it comes to ear buds. I mean so many people like myself feel sound is sound right? That’s when my man Lars Ahntholz over at Plantronics slapped some tiny yet powerful piece of reality into my ears. Lars and the audio pros at Plantronics hooked us up with a pair of BackBeat® GO Bluetooth ear buds to demo so here’s the feedback.
My first impression came from how slick and unnoticeable these ear buds are, it was as if Lars pulled them out from his ears like Houdini, I had no idea he was wearing them. That right there is one of the reasons I’ve never bought into Bluetooth earphones/ear buds, they’re always bulky and stick out but not the BackBeat® GO which are ultra-light, flexible, durable, and are so small they can be smuggled in your mouth (Nerdcaliber does not condone or promote smuggling of any kind from any Galaxy please smuggle at your own risk).
I knew I was getting a quality product from the packaging. The BackBeat® GO comes in a super slick sexy-plexi case that looks like something you would keep dinosaur DNA in while traveling through space. The box comes with extra rubber ear bud covers, a USB connector for charging the headset, ear stabilizers, and instructions. Because I was born in a nuclear submarine somewhere close to the North Pole my ears aren’t quite anatomically correct, the stabilizers help a ton for keeping the buds in a snug secure fit. I had no problem connecting them via Bluetooth to my Android phone and ipad2, the volume and microphone were a piece of cake to use, no complicated steps or procedures. Games and apps sounded so much better from my ipad with these babies on. The sound is a crisp stereo and I received no complaints or even a mention from people on the other end of my phone when I used the BackBeat® GO’s microphone to speak into. You will never buy another set of ear buds after these ones unless of course you lose your ears in a tragic samurai sword fight but hey that’s what duct tape is for.
