My Lyft driver on my way home Saturday night was a 20-something gamer nerd, who was enough of a generalist nerd that he instantly recognized that he was at an anime convention when he picked me up at the Westin Waltham. That led to a great chat all the back to my place. Alas, both my two rides Sunday of PopCult Anime Con were with almost totally silent drivers.

Sunday started out slowly, as is always the case at a convention, particularly one in a hotel. People were sleeping in after a raucous Saturday night, and even the Lip Sync Battle event at 10 a.m. didn’t draw the kind of early crowd in the staging area where my studio was as Saturday events did. Eventually enough people trickled in that it became about as boisterous as big ballroom events of the previous day.

Once again, I was joined by Anthony of FlashCordPhoto for some chill hang time in between his own scheduled photo shoots. He did his level best to convince me to play some of the gacha games that are all the rage these days, after I mentioned that while he was away on his first shoot, Carley Winn Cosplay came by as a character from Zenless Zone Zero. He almost talked me into it — I still might try one of them. It would definitely help me recognize which character is from which game. Right now, it’s about as tough for me as identifying which idol character is from which show — and I’ve actually watched a few of those.

Among the cosplayers in this first of two Sunday galleries are bythe_outsider, DoodnCoovoo Cosplaybreakingoblivion, chellebellecosplay, liztalkcosplay, stinkypotpie245, jacky.ha.313, millie_halprin, Carley Winn Cosplay gin.tasha, cloudie_27, rpwguitar_nerdsmagician, saurianwarriorcosplay, metam0re, bean__coz, daddyspookums, _dannylion_, Mink the Satyr Cosplay, ashesdaphoenix, gildedstitch, lazcosplays, jammthejedi, Flukeoffate Cosplay, jurassicosplay, silverfalconcosplay, mcat_rickster, mistykristicosplay, apocalypse.unicorn, skrinesis, busyasabeecosplay, and many more.
