Pride Month Cosplay: Harley and Ivy Retrospective Gallery
Pride Month is here, and we celebrate all of our fans that are LGBTQA+, whether they are out, still waiting for the right time, or not ever planning to come out. Over the years, the more popular an aspect of nerdy culture content was, the longer it took here in the west to recognize or identify characters as LGBTQA+. For example, even though it has been strongly implied in DC Comics for a long time that Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy were in a relationship, that wasn’t confirmed by the writers of the characters officially until 2015.
Because they are so well known as a gay or bi polyamorous couple, a retrospective gallery of Harley and Ivy cosplayers in the same photograph seemed like the best choice to start what will be a series of galleries this month, highlighting LGBTQA+ characters.
The gallery already exists, because it was created nearly a year ago to note the news that the then-DCU series Harley Quinn was getting a second season. Since then I have discovered a handful of older galleries from conventions, gallery folders that had been misplaced. So there are even a few more photos in the gallery this time than when it was last included in an article.
Cosplayers in this gallery include catsinabelfry, asuraum, ohjennabates, bethany.neska, kalamitycosbae, cosbaebecca, xsarachaosx, lorendacosplayer, Closet Geekery, jaecosplays, Siryn, Carley Winn Cosplay, Mysty Riddler’s Piratanical Cosplays, kairosmalificus, bostonbeecosplay, Koi Fish Asylum, Everybody Loves Tony Ray, paigebellcosplay, ladycorvid.cosplay, Thatch Cosplay, harleybean13, Olivia Kitt Cosplay, and many more.
We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
To view the entire gallery, just click on the image below. If you are pictured in any of our galleries, feel free to download the images and use them non-commercially on social media, with appropriate credit.
