Renaissance Garb and Cosplay at King Richard’s Faire
King Richard’s Faire, in Carver, Mass., is into its 24th year in 2016. This year I attended on a weekend that a number of cosplay friends were attending, for various reasons. Those included a family visit, general fun and at least two birthday celebrations.
The faire is open weekends from Labor Day to Sunday, Oct. 23. So there is still a chance to don some garb and get a giant turkey leg while watching lovely ladies and comely wenches or dashing men and dastardly villains. King Richard’s Faire is one of the longest running Renaissance faires in the Northeast, and one of the very few that operates on grounds with permanent structures.
I attended with cosplayer Jessica Toki, who is the purple-clad belly dancer in some of the photos. While at King Richard’s Faire I ran into Glassarrow Cosplay, Hassan Cosplay Photography, AkaneSaotome Cosplay, Captain Fable Cosplay, MizukiUsagi Cosplays, Crimson Knight Cosplay (one of the birthday celebrants), Gallant-Z Cosplay, Elyssa B’s Cosplay, and more.
