Rhode Island Comic Con 2014 Cosplay Contest – Video and Pics!

Whatever else might have gone wrong at Rhode Island Comic Con this year, the cosplay contest was an unqualified hit. Featuring a large number of astounding cosplayers, a huge audience, and the MC with the most mouth, Boston’s Deadpool, the cosplay contest went off without much of a hitch (not counting some truly outstanding cosplayers that couldn’t make it in to the registration in time, and had to go on as a walk-on).

It was a hard job for the judges, which included Destiny Nickelsen, BelleChere, Jonny Ruckus Cosplay and Abby of Human Sushi Cosplay. And helping out Boston’s Deadpool was the worthy co-host Benn Robbins of Robbins Studios.

Winning Best in Show for a second year in a row (and 2nd place three years ago at the first RICC) was Austin Vincent — a high school junior who built himself an 8-foot tall space marine from Warhammer 40,000, shown in the feature photo above.

Below is the entire contest in un-edited, raw form. It is 1:45 hours long, so settle in for a long and very entertaining video. The intro photo was taken by the creative and crazy Dave Palmacci of Venue Monsters. After the video check out a gallery of the contestants.
