Rogue Cosplay Retrospective Gallery

National Mint Julep Day is about the most Southern silly holiday I can imagine, and there are fewer characters more Southern than X-Men’s Rogue. Very little is known about Rogue’s past in the comics aside from the fact that her given name is Anna Marie with no known surname, and that she is a runaway from a fictional place in Mississippi. So her self-described status as a “Southern belle” is an inordinately important defining characteristic.

A Rogue cosplayer was one of the first people I photographed at the first convention I went to deliberately to take pictures of cosplayers, Anime Boston 2010. And Rogue is one of the cosplays that I can count on appearing at almost any kind of convention, not just comic cons. Although comic cons are where she is most common, naturally.

Rogue has worn more than a dozen canon outfits over the decades, but by the far the most common in this gallery is the traditional green and yellow bodysuit. The next most common is the green and white, often with the short cape and hood.
