Rumors: MCU May Get Valkyrie in Thor 3, FF Back Home

Two rumors have appeared on two separate nerd sites in the past 24 hours — that Thor: Ragnarok may see one of the most badass of female characters move from comics to movies, Valkyrie; and that Fox has given rights to everything Fantastic Four related back to Marvel in a deal that allows them to produce a pair of TV shows.

First up, a site called Birth. Movies. Death. is reporting inside sources say Valkyrie “might” play a role in the third Thor movie. In order to lighten up what they say is an inevitably dark movie (Ragnarok, after all, is the death of all the gods), the Hulk joins Thor on some form of journey having to do with Ragnarok.

Along the way they’re going to meet Valkyries, as you might expect from a story about the Norse end of the world, but my source tells me that besides the Valkyries (generic) the film might launch Marvel superheroine Valkyrie into the Cinematic Universe.

This all sounds very iffy, but I would welcome both the Hulk and Valkyrie in the MCU, if this turns out to be true.

Second, and potentially of much greater importance, is the rumor from DenofGeek that the rights to everything related to the Fantastic Four has reverted back to Marvel/Disney as part of a deal that allows Fox to make two TV series based on the X-Men, one about the Hellfire Club and one about Professor X’s insane and insanely powerful son, Legion.

As DenofGeek points out:

According to our source, Fox were given the TV rights for X-Men in exchange for Fantastic Four. The deal’s been in the works for some time we’re told. Further, the timing of Marvel’s recent announcement of its movie slate leading up to the year 2020 and the X-Men TV series is no coincidence.

So that means we have to wait five years before someone makes a Fantastic Four movie that isn’t a disappointment? Let’s hope this is also a true rumor.
