See Venom For Free – In Boston or Hartford!
The latest Sony movie in the Spider-Man universe is the upcoming Venom, starring Tom Hardy and lots of shiny black CGI. The new movie relocates Eddie Brock from New York to San Francisco. He’s still a journalist, but no longer a photographer. And the suit is still an alien symbiote, but we don;t know if the movie has any connection to Spider-Man as of yet.
In the words of the marketing department: “As a journalist, Eddie has been trying to take down the notorious founder of the Life Foundation, genius Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed) — and that obsession ruined his career and his relationship with his girlfriend, Anne Weying (Michelle Williams). Upon investigating one of Drake’s experiments, the alien Venom merges with Eddie’s body, and he suddenly has incredible new superpowers, as well as the chance to do just about whatever he wants. Twisted, dark, unpredictable, and fueled by rage, Venom leaves Eddie wrestling to control dangerous abilities that he also finds empowering and intoxicating. As Eddie and Venom need each other to get what they’re looking for, they become more and more intertwined — where does Eddie end and Venom begin?”
You can get a chance to see the movie in either Boston or Hartford on Oct. 3 — two days before the movie opens wide. Venom runs 112 minutes and is rated PG-13.
