Sorry Edna Mode, More CAPE Is Coming!
Last year we held our very first convention, the Cosplay And Photography Expo, bringing together expert cosplayers and photographers to teach the tricks of their incredible crafts. We are pleased to announce that CAPE 2.0 is a go, coming this Aug. 6-7 at Stonehill College! And the focus of this year’s CAPE is the Play in Cosplay.
For those of you that made it to last year’s CAPE, you may notice that I said the 2016 version will be two days. That is not a typo. Double the number of panel rooms, means double the number of panels (more, actually as we will run later Saturday) AND double the days. That means more than four times the excellent cosplay and photography knowledge being gently squeezed into your brains!
In addition to the extra panels, we will again have a Dealer Room, a Photo Studio (with at least three setups of backdrop and lights again), and the beautiful grounds of Stonehill College for your cosplay photo needs!
What’s the cost, you ask? Well, you, we are keeping the cost low — online tickets are just $20 per day, and a discounted $36 for both days. At the door, it will be $25 per day, and cash only. But wait, there’s more!
This year we will have a number of small-crowd Workshops, which for an extra cost will give you longer sessions with only 8-15 other Workshop attendees to learn in-depth techniques from many of our great panelists. Like everything we strive to do at CAPE, the cost of these will stay relatively low, with most being around $20 per person, and the most expensive being $30 per person (while we can’t announce that Workshop yet, the extra cost is to cover the Workshop panelist’s materials cost).
That’s not all, either! We will be announcing more fun things going on at CAPE 2.0 that you can enjoy for your regular ticket cost. As I said above, the focus this year is on the Play part of the word Cosplay.
Tickets are limited to 500 attendees each day, just a bit more than double our attendance last year. We anticipate them to sell out this year what with the incredible response we had last year, and the amazing returning and all new panelists whose brains will be available for picking!
