Steampunk Returns to Waltham – Watch City Festival Gallery

After taking a year off in 2014, the Watch City Steampunk Festival returned to the Common in Waltham, Mass. Unlike previous years, in which it ran for two days, this year the festival was only held on Saturday, May 9. That meant that it was more crowded and full of people enjoying the alternative version of the Victorian Era in which what was considered high tech of the day — steam power and electricity — have been taken to their fictional extremes.

There was also a larger number of vendors this year, it seemed. Among those was the interactive adventure company 5 Wits, which was promoting its “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” adventure at its facility in Patriot Place, along with stalwarts like Cloak & Dagger Creations, whose booth was always packed.

In the gallery you can find a couple of shots of the Queen of the festival, Jessica Mercy, in her amazing clock-based Victorian gown. Also in the gallery is a candid shot of the steampunk photography master, Matt Norris, doing his thing.
