Stilt-using Cosplay Gallery On Walk On Stilts Day
In a gallery related to Walk On Stilts Day, it might be easy to assume we would just put up images of the various robots and mechs from Extreme Costumes. And yes, we could fill out a gallery with just the amazing creations by Tom and his team. But there are plenty of other creative use of stilts in costumes that I have taken photos of over the years, from hooved woodland fauns to Gorilla Grod to different types of Warhammer 40,000 space marines — to Lady Dimitrescu.
While I thought the first photos I took of a stilt-using cosplayer or costumer was Tom from Extreme Costumes, at Katsucon 2013, it was actually the bare-chested fellow with the Russian-sounding name from an MIT robotics club (and apologies that I can’t remember either his name or the club’s) in the silver mech, from as far back as 2011. Included in this gallery is a photo of him getting thrown out of ConnectiCon for violating the “no nipples” policy.
Cosplayers in this gallery include Extreme Costumes, razorsedgecosplay, hailiumworkshop, bostonreinhardt, Planet Ruby, fiddlewiththesticks, a.t.vincent, johndetty, circus_rosen, and many more.
We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
