Supergirl Retrospective Gallery On News That Next Season Will Be Its Last

The upcoming season of the CW series Supergirl will be the last, according to the show’s producers. Supergirl herself, Melissa Benoist, confirmed it in a heartfelt tweet about the impact the character has had on girls around the world. The sixth season won’t premier until sometime in 2021, with production delayed by the global pandemic that has affected all TV and movie productions, but also by Benoist’s pregnancy.

With so many different designs for Supergirl over the years, I had to limit the gallery to pictures with just Supergirl in them — and still wound up with just under 100 images total. The only exceptions to this rule are photos from New York Comic Con of Supergirl and Power Girl, because they are technically the same person from different timelines. Also a picture of Supergirl with the cutest Superman you’ve ever seen.

It’s almost impossible to pick a favorite costume out of the many Supergirl has worn, but I can say the cosplay world needs more of the white crop top and blue skirt designed by Bruce Timm for the DC animated universe. The only example in this entire gallery is worn by the amazing Mhysa Cosplay.

Cosplayers in this gallery include chelseabrickham, justsaiyancosplay, bostonbeecosplay, chelle.belle.cosplay, Black Cat Comics Cosplay, Captain Kaycee Cosplay, Kitteninstrings Cosplay, Jessica Mercy, Ani-Mia, Mhysa Cosplay, Lady Cels, closet.geekery, Bunny Moon Cosplay, Lucky Grim Creative, smoochum302, Maeden Cosplay, sisucosplayandcraft, maidofmalice, The d’Arda Sisters, serenacosplay, Mini Mal Cosplay, Jerikandra Cosplay, Rochelle from Simply Enchanted, Moonie Warrior Cosplay, and many more.

We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
