Total Con Review
Total Confusion:
Total Confusion was a completely different experience for me altogether. I had no idea what to expect when I got there which made it a complete mystery and adventure. The number of older men and women surprised me immensely, but it was great to see them taking a weekend out of their busy lives to come and relax and have a little fun. As we walked around, there were many people playing a variety of different games from dungeons and dragons to new card games that aren’t even in the store yet. People were everywhere, and really getting into the games that they were playing. If you wanted to know how a particular game was played, I don’t think anyone there would have had a problem teaching you to play.
Many of the games that people were playing were card games or the type of game that comes out of a box. There were some games however that took a few tables to even fit the game board. I witnessed a group of people playing a game that was taking up six tables. The game board was a mini city that had replicas of things ranging from ships to water towers to the empire state building. After moving away for a few moments and then returning, many of the structures had disappeared and there were many different monster type things taking over the city. Although I did not get a chance to see how the game actually worked, there were many people gathering around having a blast.
Walking around getting the feeling for the convention, we wandered into vender land. Everyone was excited to be a part of TotalCon, and that made me want to look around even more. There was some really neat stuff and at decent prices too!!! Check out TotalCon 2012 for some pretty epic venders!!
One of the main events that happened on the Sunday of Total Confusion 2011 was an event like none I have ever experienced….IRON GM!!! My plan was to take pictures of the event and watch as a fellow Nerd Caliber member played his tables game of Dungeons and Dragons, however at the last moment they were 2 players short, so I got roped into playing. I had never played the game before and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I went along with the flow.
