Wicked Comic Con 2024 Saturday Gallery Part 2

Late morning at Wicked Comic Con 2024 our full video team showed up and set out among the crowds to get some excellent interviews of cosplayers. In his first time as our interviewer, andywarpop absolutely killed it. He had so much fun that he came back on Sunday just to enjoy the con some more, even though he was only scheduled to work on Saturday. My business partner and Nerd Caliber founder Manny and videographer vstraitt were using a bunch of new pieces of gear for the interviews — a new set of wireless lav and handheld mics, and a handheld cell phone gimble instead of the large and heavy Sony cameras we have mostly used in the past.

While the video team was off getting interviews, I was busy at the studio taking pictures of even more amazing cosplayers. Among those was Ivy Doomkitty — the first time I’ve had a chance to take her photo since Boston Comic Con in 2014. Back then I tried getting some cool photos on a balcony of the Seaport World Trade Center, looking out over Boston Harbor while Ivy was in an Assassin’s Creed costume. Alas, I couldn’t get the lighting to work well. This time I had my studio space and I’m much happier with the outcome.

As you know, I love when I get surprised by an unexpected cosplay, and I had two of those moments in this gallery. First up is lostsanitycosplays in their amazing Magneto cosplay. Specifically, the costume design from the recent Disney+ hit series X-Men ’97. The makeup, the attitude — everything was on point. And then I was floored by the cosplayer dressed as Coop from the mid-2000s MTV animated series Megas XLR. Alas, he didn’t leave any social media to tag. Well done, sir unknown.

Cosplayers in this gallery include sorceress_triss, the__devil__you__know, jacky.ha.313, lostsanitycosplays, kenneth_pereira, inevitablebetrayal, bombeii, iameenae, eguzman314, Ivy Doomkitty, moultonrock179, Kaylaina Cosplay, lazcosplays, jammthejedi, old_school_jedi, isabella.auroraf, guilianna.cicciu, chellebellecosplay, hannibananicosplay, gracedbycosplay, cosbaebebe, dirt_fairy, and many more.
