Wizard World Returns to Streets of Philadelphia

Yo, Philadelphia! The Doctor is in!

The countdown is over and Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con is finally here. With convention season in full swing, the final touches are probably already on your best cosplay, whether that be something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. (In case you’re going with X-Men: Days of Future Past that would be Magneto, Quicksilver, Rogue and Mystique, respectively.)

The highlight of the event is the panel of Matt Smith (Doctor Who) and Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) who graced Doctor Who, beginning in 2010, and broke both our hearts when they recently stepped away from the roles. (Note: unlike previous years, this panel is a paid event. General event admission does not include admittance to this.)

A massive cross-section of pop culture and comic book film talent join them, including Nathan Fillion, Sebastian Stan, Norman Reedus and Evan Peters. Essentially, you could hop from Captain America: The Winter Soldier to X-Men: Days of Future Past to The Walking Dead faster than Quicksilver can change a bullet’s flight path.

While the silver screen may shine the brightest, do not miss the opportunity to see master comic talent as well, including Greg Capullo, Neal Adams and Mikel Janin who are responsible for the incredible story arcs and characters that are later recreated by Hollywood. Think of it like doing your homework, but in the most wonderful way possible.

Remember to check back with coverage and photos from the event!
